Greater Stark County Urban League’s
Annual Campaign and Membership Drive

CANTON, OH – April 18, 2008 – The Greater Stark County Urban League (GSCUL) is launching a 2008 Annual Membership Drive Campaign “1,000 members 1 voice”.

The campaign was announced at the 2008 Annual Meeting in March, the official campaign will begin May 1, 2008 and end July 31, 2008. Our goal is to raise $100,000.00 for the operation of the Urban League’s programs and services.

The Greater Stark County Urban League’s mission is to enable minorities to reach full economic, social and health parity which will enrich their lives and the lives of their families.

The immediate focus of the Urban League is education and youth empowerment, civic engagement, economic and leadership development. They will work in these areas to develop programs, create partnerships and relationships that will further the mission of the Urban League, and continue to build on the strengths of the community.

For the second year in a row, the Greater Stark County Urban League has received from the National Urban League, the Certificate of Outstanding Achievement. Sixty-seven national affiliates have received a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement in recognition of maintaining yearlong satisfactory status related to affiliate compliance in 2007.
